Your legacy is planting seeds that you will never see flower.
Your legacy is knowing that you’ve done better for the next generation. Your legacy is having the rebellious hope that the actions you take today will create a better society tomorrow

Dame Deborah James

Fuelled by the spirit of rebellious hope – of choosing to remain hopeful in the face of overwhelming odds – the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK was set up to continue the incredible legacy of Dame Deborah James.

We raise money to fund cutting edge research into early detection and personalised medicine, raise awareness of signs and symptoms and tackle the stigmas around cancer with unflinching honesty so we can give more people affected by cancer more time with the people they love.

Since setting up the Bowelbabe Fund in May 2022, it's now gone on to raise over £16m and we've now committed over £12m to support projects across Cancer Research UK, the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Bowel Cancer UK. As well as supporting international bowel cancer research through Cancer Grand Challenges.

Continuing Dame Deborah James' incredible legacy.
